Died – At Pleasanton, Kansas, on the 11th inst., of Consumption, Miss Ettie, daughter of Joseph and Jane LaCount, formerly of Manitowoc, Wis., aged 17 years 11 months and 20 days.
The deceased was a sister of Dr. LaCount, of this village, and although departed from our midst in the commencement of her usefulness, the beautiful traits in her character as well as her virtuous examples will serve as shining lights for future generations, as well as for the present to admire and esteem. In the language of the poet;

A noble life, but written not,
In any book of fame.
Among the list of noted ones
None ever saw her name.

For only her own friends could know,
The victories she had won,
And only they could testify,
How well her work was done.
