Carl Bauer died in Fairbury, Jan. 21, 1937, at the age of 51 years, and 14 days, after an illness of eleven days.
Carl Henry Bauer, son of Hans and Maria Bauer, was born near Falls City, Richardson county, Jan. 7, 1886.
At the age of four years, with his parents, he came to Jefferson county, locating in the Gladstone vicinity. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church west of Gladstone, continuing a member of that congregation until the Fairbury congregation was organized in 1923, since that time having been a member of the local congregation.
He was married to Miss Emma Huss Feb. 17, 1915. Six children were born, three of whom preceded their father in death.
Surviving are his wife and three children, Norbert, Lorene and Verneda of Fairbury; his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Bauer of Chester; his brothers William and Walter of Fairbury; Elmer of Oak; John of Gladstone; his sisters, Mrs. Anna Frank and Josephine of Chester.
Relatives beside the immediate family who attended the funeral services here Saturday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Gebhart, Mr. and Mrs. John Gebhart and Ed Gebhart all of Falls City.
Funeral services were held at the Grace Lutheran church Saturday afternoon. Rev. Oscar Decker officiating.
Burial in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery west of Gladstone.
