KARNACK Funeral services for Dallas Steve Tidwell, 71, of Meyers Lane, Karnack, were to be held at 4:30 .p.m. today at the Travis Street Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home, with Mike Hayner officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilhite Cemetery in Wilhite, La.
Mr. Tidwell died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 1993, at his Karnack home. He was born May 4, 1921, in Wilhite, La., to Steve Tidwell and Ovelia Allbritton Tidwell. He attended public schools in Wilhite. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for T.L, James and Company in Ruston, La. He was previously self-employed as a logging contractor. He was a member of Point Providence Baptist Church in Point, La.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hayner, of Karnack; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and O.E. Wood, of West Monroe, La.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Dallas and Ann Tidwell of Quitman, La., and Marty Lee Tidwell of Point, La.; four grandchildren, Sladden Eston Gilbert, Gregory Dale Tidwell and Terri Nicole Tidwell, all of West Monroe, La., and Dallas Machell Tidwell of Dover, Ark.; one sister, Marie Jones of Wilhite; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Annette Tidwell of Wilhite; and several nieces and nephews.
