January 10, 1938 - December 22, 2018

David Waddell, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2018. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee to Virgie Thomason and Bruce Waddell. David was raised in a suburb outside of Memphis before enlisting into the US Air Force, where he proudly served his country. After his enlistment ended, he attended a truck driving school and began a 40 year career in trucking. A man of faith, he attended various Pentecostal and Baptist churches.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Thomason, and his brother, Charles Waddell. He is survived by his daughter, Stacy; his son, David Jr.; his former wife, Brenda Jones; grandchildren, Ashley, Carrie and Suzzane; his sisters, Brenda and Vester; brothers, Wayne and Billy; his aunts, Nancy and Diane Keisler; and numerous other relatives and friends too numerous to mention but no less loved.

The family is awaiting verification of his eligibility for interment in the Houston National Cemetery before they are able to set the date for his services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for assistance and contributions during this trying time due to the unexpected nature of his passing and the timing with the holidays.
