Cesar was active in the Southeast Texas music scene. He was a graduate of West Brook High School and was active in JROTC.
Survivors include his mother, Idolina Gonzalez and her husband, Jorge, of Beaumont; father, Jose Alvarez and his wife, Maria, of Longview; siblings, Isaac, Jacob, and Abigail, of Longview; sister, Monica Gonzalez; uncles, Ricardo Escamilla and his wife, Elizabeth, of Beaumont; Gerald Escamilla and his wife, Rachel, of Corpus Christi; and Jesus “Chuy” Abrego of Beaumont; maternal grandmother, Lucila Escamilla of Beaumont; paternal grandparents, Juana and Alberto Alvarez of Mexico; great-uncle, Jesse Escamilla and his wife, Virginia; cousins, Gabbie and Mia of Beaumont; Roxy, Shelly, Regina, and Renee, all of Corpus Christi; and Jair Morales of California.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ricardo Escamilla.
A gathering of Mr. Alvarez’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with his Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2018, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont, 77701, with is interment to follow at Haven of Rest, Beaumont.
