Bertha ""Billie"" Caroline Passauer (Parasol) Bene entered peacefully into heaven on Saturday, January 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Alfred Bene of 44 years. She is survived by her two children. A proud grandmother of six and a great grandmother of fourteen and the late Christopher and Briana . Daughter of the late Catherine ""Katie"" Hammer Passauer and Louis Passauer, Sr. Preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Lucille P. Lee, Catherine P. Hammock, Evelyn P. Hock, Louis and Charles Passauer. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 95, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Terrytown, Louisiana. ""Billie"" worked for many years at the Naval Base in Belle Chasse as a Data Processing Supervisor. Upon retirement, she spent her time traveling, gardening, and mostly caring for her grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Visitation beginning at 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment following in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association, Leukemia Society and the American Diabeties Association.
