Donna Jean Pfeiffer, age 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 7, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA.
Donna was born on August 20, 1932 in New Rockford, North Dakota to Delma and Jake Taverna.
She graduated high school and was united in marriage to Richard Pfeiffer in 1952. Two years later they had their firstborn and in 1958 she and Richard moved to California where they welcomed three more children into their home. Her family remembers her as a kind, gentle, patient mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Donna was a loyal and compassionate friend who loved chocolate and Mexican food and Frank Sinatra. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Pfeiffer.

Delma Taverna, 88, New Rockford, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, in Lutheran Home of Good Shepherd, New Rockford.
Delma Lillian Hill was born Aug. 19, 1911, the daughter of John and Amanda (Olson) Hill, in Sheyenne, N.D., where she graduated from high school. She married Jacob Taverna on Oct. 1, 1929, in Fargo. They lived and farmed southwest of New Rockford. They retired in 1981 and moved to New Rockford in 1982. Jacob Taverna died Dec. 19, 1983.
She is survived by a son, Neil (Karen Mart), Fargo; daughters, Donna Pfeiffer, Midway City, Calif., and Diane Ziegler, New Rockford; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Allmaras, New Rockford, Verne (Al) Bagley, Burley, Idaho, Winona Schaecher, Eugene, Ore., and Dorothy Rubow, Boise, Idaho; and a brother, Gordon (Darlene), Mandan, N.D.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis and Howard; and a sister, Margaret.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, First Congregational Church, New Rockford.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
