Born Feb. 18, 1909, in Greenbriar, MO to the late Burgess Franklin "B.F." and Mittie Frances Jeffries Acord, he was a self-employed farmer for over 60 years before retiring. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
On Dec. 23, 1929, he married Lillian Louise "Lil" Weaks who preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2003.
In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Eugene "Bill" and Joann Acord; one sister, Marie Daugherty; two grandsons, Jimmy Acord, and David Acord; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Ponder Funeral Home where services were scheduled with the Rev. Allen Shriver, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
