He worked for National Linen Service as a supervisor for a number of years and was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S.Army. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Melba Currie of the home, three sons Larry E. Currie Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and Gregory P. Currie and Ray K. Currie both of Charlotte, NC. Five Grandchildren and four Great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 :00 P.M. Sunday, January, 3, 2010 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Eddie Yount and Pastor Homer Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
