Helen Jean Perkins, age 89, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at her home, in Harrison County, Kentucky. She was born October 10, 1929, in Harrison County, to the late Jessie and Hallie Harney Coy. She married Richard C. Perkins, of Cynthiana, on June 22, 1950. She was a gifted cook, well known for her jam cakes. She was a stay-at-home wife, mother of six children and had many friends. She knew God and lived a good Christian life. She was a strong woman, working outside the house as much as inside the home. She was a "farmer's wife."

She was preceded in death by: her parents; an infant son, Danny Wayne Perkins; her oldest son, Steve Perkins; and a grandson, Scotty Perkins. Helen is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Richard; four sons, Gary (Connie) Perkins, Mike (Ruby) Perkins, Anthony (Karen) Perkins and Allen (Michelle) Perkins; a daughter, Donna (Mike) Fryman; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Perkins; a sister, Hildreth Withers; 15 grandchildren, Chris (Toby) Perkins, Lorie (Dan) Furnish, Amy (Michael) Furnish, Carrie (Drew) Simpson, Rick (Elisha) Perkins, Stephanie (Lucas) Wood, Crystal (Frankie) Moore, Michelle (Jerry) Hardin, Heather (Shawn) Sumpter, Alissa (Ricky) Barry, Leslie (Donnie) Jones, Gary Allen Perkins, Hannah Perkins, Molly Perkins and Sadie Perkins; three step-grandchildren, Kevin Smalling, Jonnee Lykins and Terry Rigdon; 24 great-grandchildren, Haley Perkins, Ryan Perkins, Brett (Hillary) Perkins, Clay Furnish, Sydney Furnish, Karley Furnigh, John Michael Furnish, Ava Furnish, Amelia Simpson, Luke Perkins, Lillie Perkins, Madison Perkins, Trey Perkins, Dakota Moore, Emma Moore, Madison Bennett, Quinten Hardin, Braxton Sumpter, Colton Sumpter, Olivia Barry, Toby Barry, Brinnle Jones, Ellie Jones and Gabriel Jones; three step-great-grandchildren, Makayla Cloyd, Emalee Little and Hunter Lykins; two great-great-grandchildren, Paisley Perkins and Keaton Perkins; a special friend, Linda Atkins; and a special caregiver, Sandy Smith.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, with services following by the Rev. Randy Coy. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rick Perkins, Chris Perkins, Gary Allen Perkins, Tim Coy, Kevin Coy and Bill Withers. Honorary pallbearers are Lorie Furnish, Amy Furnish, Carrie Simpson, Crystal Moore, Michelle Hardin, Heather Sumpter, Stephanie Wood, Alissa Barry, Leslie Jones, Hannah Perkins, Molly Perkins and Sadie Perkins.
