Richard Steven "Steve" Perkins, age 66, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Wednesday, October 5, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on May 3, 1951, to Richard C. and Helen Jean Coy Perkins. He was a retired employee of Lockheed Martin, an avid horseman and a member of the Antique Tractor Association.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Brian Scott Perkins; and a brother, Danny Wayne Perkins. Besides his parents, he is survived by: his wife of 29 years, Elaine Perkins; a son, Christopher (Toby) Perkins; a step-son, Kevin Smalling; a step-daughter, Jonnee Rebecca Lykins; an adopted son, Terry Lee Rigdon; four brothers, Mike Perkins, Anthony Perkins, Gary Perkins and Allen Perkins; a sister, Donna Fryman; four grandchildren, Christopher Brett Perkins, Hayley Brooke Perkins, Ryan Tanner Scott Perkins and Hunter Ray Lykins; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Scott Perkins and Keaton Scott Perkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association, 1504 College Way, Lexington, Kentucky 40502.
