The youngest daughter of the late Frank and Nora Gunnoe. Marie was also preceded in death by her husband Howard, her brothers Harold and Harvey Gunnoe (twins), and her sister Ruby Runyon.
She moved to Columbus, Ohio in her early 20s where she met and married her husband of 30 years Howard Cunningham.
She worked at Timken Bearings starting on as a male replacement worker during the war. When our boys came back she transferred to the shipping department. She left Timken when their daughter was born. Marie also worked for the State of Ohio in the state library.
In 1971 Marie and Howard moved to Fort Pierce, Florida for the betterment of Howard's RA. After moving to Fort Pierce Marie worked in the retail business and then found a calling to help others as a caregiver for Hospice St. Lucie County for over 10 years.
Marie is survived by her daughter Nora Cunningham and her husband James Parsons of Fort Pierce, grand-daughter Melody and husband Kip Boyce, great-grand-children Caelyn and Hunter Boyce of Rochester, MN; and 16 nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed singing and playing piano very often calling her nieces and nephews and singing happy birthday to them. She loved animals at one time had 6 cockatiels. She enjoyed sewing crafts and the last project she worked on was a quilt she made with our dear friend Penny Burch.
