Gladys B. Davis, 94, of the 800 block of Poplar Hall Drive, died January 25, 1997.

She was born in Swan Quarter, N.C., and was the widow of Wilson Davis. She was retired from the Virginia Beach School System and had taught in Norfolk County, Princess Anne County and Virginia Beach. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Barnhill Ballance of Norfolk; five nieces and eight nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Williams Ballance and George Ballance; two sisters, Almeta Ballance Powers and Thelma Ballance Bright; and two brothers, Morris Ballance and Fernie Ballance.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Clark L. Mandigo. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church, 715 Baker Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462.
