JoAnne Moore went peacefully to be with her Lord, mother and father, and brother Steven, November 1st, 2018, at home in Coppell, Texas. Her sons Daniel and Christopher, husband David, and friend Ursula Rowinska were at her bedside.

JoAnne was born the day after Christmas, December 26th, 1943, to Joseph and Bernice Kurtz in Norfolk, Virginia. After the war, the family settled in the Wheeler Ridge area south of Arvin, farming for over 30 years. JoAnne's brother Steven was born in Bakersfield October 25, 1946.

Shy when she started school, JoAnne became involved at the Arvin Congregational Church, and a Camp Fire Girls troop her mother helped start. At Sunset Elementary School, JoAnne excelled in art, ballet, and band. Her father encouraged her in basketball, volleyball, swimming and track, where she won many 1st place ribbons. At 13 years of age, JoAnne made a Junior Olympic record soft ball throw that was best in the USA for a year.

JoAnne was a popular High School student, song-leader, and in the Girl's Athletic Association, lettering in tennis. As a Senior she was voted to the Royal Courts of Homecoming and Arvin Snow Queen. Offered a scholarship to go to art school, JoAnne decided to marry teacher Dennis Goodenough in 1961. They lived in Fresno, Camarillo and Oxnard, California where son Daniel Joseph was born December 17th 1972. That part of her life ended in 1977, and JoAnne and Daniel returned to the Kurtz family farm south of Arvin, where she kept the books for her father's farming operation.

By June 6th, 1981 JoAnne had met and married David Moore, a Bakersfield Television Station manager. Later that year, they moved to Prescott, Arizona to start a new television station. They had second son Christopher David-Raymond Moore in April 22, 1982. The family also lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, back to Bakersfield, then in 1992 to North Texas. In 1995 JoAnne's mother, Bernice came to live with them for the next 13 years.

JoAnne had always prepared gourmet dinners for family and friends. She was involved in church activities everywhere she lived, and continued her painting, sewing, and craft projects. Each year she painted the family Christmas card cover. JoAnne's love for gardening resulted in flowers everywhere she lived, and often a vegetable garden. She loved the ocean and painted several beach scenes.

JoAnne was preceded in passing by her father, mother, and brother, Joseph, Bernice and Steven Kurtz; survived by sons Daniel and Christopher, husband David, cousins Roger and Judith Kurtz, and Patricia Horrocks; by sisters-in-law Susan Kurtz, Jane Moore, Mary Moore, Ann Moore, and Christine Gray; brothers-in-law Harry Weekley and Paul Moore; nieces and nephews Matthew and Shelly Kurtz, Stephanie and Joseph Nunez, Casey and Doug Brakebill, Darrel and Marie Duncan, Kate Richardson, and Carrie, Lauren, Christian and Taylor Baierlein.
