Born May 21, 1936 in Tupelo, MS, Charles was the son of Marion Manning and June Blazer Manning. He passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
Charles graduated from Wink High School, Wink, TX in 1955. Following graduation, he moved to California. On Thanksgiving he met Annie Brooks, and a week later they were married on December 3, 1955 in Quartzsite, AZ. The couple was married for 63 years and were blessed with seven children, 17 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
Charles enjoyed telling stories about his children and grandchildren, watching reality TV and the "Young And The Restless," playing Lotto, and collecting cans for which he was known as "The Can Man" around Thackerville.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Marion and June Manning; brother, Larry Manning; two sons, Wayne Manning and Phillip Manning; and great-grandson, Kaysen.
Survivors include his wife, Annie of the home at Thackerville; four sons, Michael Manning and wife Dejuana of Soper, OK, Kevin Manning and wife Laura of Gainesville, TX, Mark Manning of Upland, CA, and Andrew and Todd Manning of Riverside, CA; daughter, Rose Westra of Thackerville; five brothers, Clarence Manning and wife Dorothy of Marietta, Jerry Manning and wife Virginia of Gilbert, AZ, Leon Manning and wife Rosie of Hesperia, CA, Isom Manning and wife Kelley of Ontario, CA, and Billy Manning, also of Ontario; two sisters, Mary Lugenbeel of Upland, CA and Sue Bailey of San Antonio, TX; 17 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
