Notable military awards: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, Arkansas Distinguished Service Medal, 2-time awardee of the Army Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a leadership Arkansas class XIII member of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas.
Darrell began his career in the water utility industry with Central Arkansas Water where he served for 30 years. During this time, he held many positions finally retiring as the Director of Distribution and Maintenance. Darrell was a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the southern section of the AWWA, and was a past chair of the Arkansas Water Works and Water Environment Association. Darrell most recently served as the CEO of the states two most prolific organizations entrusted with utility infrastructure damage prevention and public safety as it pertains to excavation across this state. Arkansas 811 and Arkansas Utility Protection Services, Inc. are state wide organizations with missions that are crucial to every Arkansan and our daily lives.
Darrell is survived by one son, Brandon Boggs of Little Rock, AR and one daughter Brianna Boggs of Little Rock, AR. His parents Marshall & Celia Boggs of Mayflower, AR, two sisters, Caressa Kincaid of Mayflower, AR and Teresa ( Randy) Rowe of Harrison, AR along with 6 nephews and 3 nieces and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 7, 2019 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 7, 2019 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
