Obituary for Rebecca "Peggy" Butcher Kalar

Rebecca “Peggy” Butcher Kalar, age 73 years, a resident of Beverly where she made her home with her grandson Zachery George, went to be with the Lord peacefully Monday, September 22, 2014. She had been in declining health, however, death was sudden and unexpected. She was born November 14, 1940 at Beverly, a daughter of the late James Elmer and Bernice Goddard Butcher. She was married to Ronald Eugene Kalar who preceded her in death September 10, 2005. She is survived by one daughter, Marla George and fiance’ Michael Desper of Elkins, two brothers, Richard “Dick” Butcher and wife Joyce of Colonial Heights, VA and Freeman “Joe” Butcher and companion Mary Everhart of Elkins. Two sisters, Ruby Lewis and husband Herbert of Dinwiddie, VA and Elaine Yeatts of Petersburg, VA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amber Rhodes and husband Chris of Elkins and Zachery George and wife Jenni of Beverly and six great grandchildren, Tyler, Zane, Lexee, Ziah, Cody and Adilyn. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Robert, Elmer, Bruce and Sherwood Butcher and two sisters, Margaret Clark and Thelma Knippenberg. Peggy or “Mom Peg” as many called her was a homemaker and loved spending time with her great grandchildren with whom she loved very much. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday September 25, 2014 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Cremation will follow.
