She was born April 7, 1933 in Staunton, daughter of the late Joseph Clifton and Kathleen (Beverage) Markley.
She was a graduate of R. E. Lee High School and Dunsmore Business School.
Constance was employed by E. W. Barger Insurance and also provided independent bookkeeping services to several area businesses.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Mitchell to whom she was married on October 15, 1955 and her daughter, Kimberly Mitchell of Staunton; special cousins, Patricia M. Vincent (Roger) of Fishersville, Sue D. Layman (David) of Florida, and Douglas A. Gutshall (Mary) of Monterey; and a number of other cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Won Un. Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.
