Clarence Weed, Alexandria, Dies At Home Today

ALEXANDRIA -- Clarence E. Weed, 78, 602 W. Broadway, lifetime resident of Alexandria, died at 1:20 a.m. this morning at his home after a two-year illness.

A native of Greenfield, he was born April 14, 1890 to Hiriam and Marguerite Weed. He was a retired City Street Commissioner in Alexandria.

He married Mary Beber, who died in 1928. He later married Mary Elizabeth Metcalfe Weed, who survives.

Surviving with the widow, Mary Elizabeth are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mary Louise) McElfresh of Elwood and Mrs. William (Lucille) Cook of Chicago; two step-sons, Charles Riser of Marion and Arthur Riser of Kokomo; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robert Louderbaugh of Kokomo and Mrs. Florabelle Etchison of Frankton; two brothers, Charles Weed of Alexandria and John Weed of Corning, N. Y.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Thursday at the Noffze Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Zimmer, officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
