Obituary
Gloria Thibodeaux Comeaux
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Gloria Comeaux, age 80, the former Gloria Thibodeaux, who passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Courtyard Manor in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

Mrs. Comeaux was a native of Bristol and grew up in Carencro. She resided in Schriever for 29 years and had been a resident of Lafayette for more than 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, where she served as a greeter and was a member of the rosary group. She was a member of the VFW Post 9822 Auxiliary. Mrs. Comeaux was a former member of the Pink Ladies at St. Joseph Hospital in Thibodaux and belonged to the Geneology Society of Houma with her husband.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Harold Comeaux of Lafayette; two sons, Terry Comeaux and wife, Alicia Sabo, of Kyle, TX, Timothy J. Comeaux of Houma; one grandchild, Russell Anthony Comeaux and wife, Michelle Scribellito Comeaux, of Lexington, SC; and one great grandchild, Wyatt Russell Comeaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emillien Gustin Thibodeaux and the former Julia Leger; six brothers, Chester Thibodeaux, Essey Savoie, Early Thibodeaux, Weston Thibodeaux, Lynus Thibodeaux, Joseph C.J. Savoie; and three sisters, Eudez Thibodeaux Janise, Rose Lee Thibodeaux Adams and Agnes "Choot" Savoie Miller.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Comeaux, Russell Comeaux, Kirk Prejean, Craig Comeaux, Patrick Comeaux and Linden Comeaux, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Comeaux, Kenneth Savoie and Karl Savoie.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, is in charge of arrangements.
