Tom Acker for many years a resident of Buda, died Thursday night, presumably from heart trouble. His little nephew, Bobby Brainard, who lives with him, was sleeping with him and heard him breathing heavily in the night but the boy said it was some time before he roused enough to realize something was wrong. Finding he count not awaken his uncle, he went to the neighbors for help about 3o'clock, but nothing could then be done, as Mr. Acker was dead.
Mr. Acker, who was about 65, had never married. For years he maintained a home for his mother and the children of a deceased sister. One young nephew still lived with him since the mother died and the other members of the family married and left.
Mr. Acker was an enthusiastic Mason, belonging to the Blue lodge and the Eastern Star in Buda, the White Shrine in Princeton, the Consistory and Shrine in Peoria and the Low Twelve club in Kewanee. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows.
