Thomas Jackson "T.J." Koon, 78, of Mayo, Fla., died Wednesday, January 9, 2002. He was the owner of T.J. Koon Dairy in Mayo, Fla. Born in Lafayette County, Fla., he was a lifelong resident, a general farmer and dairyman and he was a member of Airline Baptist Church of Mayo, Fla.

He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Sallie L. Koon; three sons, Charles G. Koon and wife, Pat, Howell E. Koon and wife, Jackie, and Robert "Bobby" D. Koon and wife, Melody, all of Mayo, Fla.; two daughters, Sandra G. Koon and Lynn J. Koon, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Herman Koon and R. L. Koon, Jr., both of Mayo, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Ann Toole of Dowling Park, Donald Koon, Donna Moody, Dwayne Koon, Marsha Koon, Marcy Koon, Chelsey Koon and Samantha Koon, all of Mayo, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Cecelia Koon, Haley Koon, Austin Moody, Christian Moody, Amber Such and Michaela Smith. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Services were held 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2002, at Airline Baptist Church, Mayo, Fla., with burial at Airline Cemetery.
