Deacon George Arnold of Nunda, a pioneer of that section, died last week at the advanced age of 91 years. Mr. Arnold rode the Fulton's first steamboat and on New York's first railroad from Broadway, in New York, to Harlem. He is survived by a wife, three daughters and three sons. (The Portville Autograph - October 2, 1903)

Children - D. H. Arnold (Wiscoy), Geo F. Arnold (Geneva, Nebraska), J. C. Arnold (Portage), Helen M. Andrus (Portage), Harriet A. Caldwell (Fillmore) and Clara A Haver (Yuma, Colorado).
