James is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, Barbara Langendorfer of Portage, IN; children, Lynn Vaught of Portage, IN; Randy (Carlos Rojas-Jara) Langendorfer of Costa Rica, Ron Langendorfer of Chesterton, IN and Jim (Carol) Langendorfer of Dunwood, GA; son-in-law, Al Vaught of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Marcia Guth of Chesterton, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Vaught of Chicago, IL, Steven (Maribel) Vaught of Chandler, AZ, Laura (Dan) Schuster of Westfield, IN, Bobby (Amanda) Langendorfer of Fredricksburg, VA and Tim Langendorfer of Athens, GA; great grandchildren, Bryce and Brianna Vaught of Chandler, AZ and Hannah and Henry Schuster of Westfield, IN; he was also survived by special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Langendorfer.
James was a switchman for Inland Steel and drove a bus for Portage Township Schools for many years.
He was a model train enthusiast and worked at the Carriage House in Hobart after retirement. He enjoyed working in and beautifying his yard.
