Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Kathryn Turner (nee Leggett), his children, Cincinnati Sergeant David R. Turner Sr. (Dana), Diana Turner (Byron Tudor), Edward R. Turner (Susie), and Sharon Turner Phipps (Huey). He is also survived by numerous cherished grandchildren and beautiful great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Lois Arlinghaus (Joe) and his brother, David Turner (Donna). Ray was preceded in death by his son, Raymond D. Turner and his daughter-in-law, Brenda Turner.
Captain Turner honorably served for 30 years on the Cincinnati Police Force, retiring as Captain in 1987. He was honored to guard many visiting celebrities, including President Ford, Henry Kissinger and The Beatles, to name a few.
Captain Turner was also an accomplished magician, performing under the name of Sir Prise Comedy Magician and would take his show on the road to hundreds of venues over the course of several decades, entertaining all, but mostly kids.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 27 from 5-8 PM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St., Amelia. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 28 at 10 AM at St. Veronica Church in Mt. Carmel. A reception will be held, immediately following the interment and cemetery service, at Receptions Loveland, 10681 Loveland Madeira Rd., Loveland 45140.
