Rev. Leonard Z. Ferris Resigned from Newman Congregational Church Last Year

Rev. Leonard Z. Ferris, for 21 years pastor of the Newman Congregational Church, Rumford, died at Gorham, Me., last week after a three weeks illness. Some of his former parishioners were notified of his death, by telegraph, this morning and they will go to Gorham to attend the funeral.

Mr. Ferris resigned as pastor of the Rumford church on June 19, 1909, owing to poor health and failing eyesight. He then returned to his former home at Gorham. He came to Rhode Island from Boston and during his pastorate here was very active in the affairs of the Congregational church in the State. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College.

He is survived by a widow and a daughter, Miss Abbie G. Ferris of Boston.
