Rev. Richard K. Morton, minister of the First Congregational church, officiated at the services. Interment was at Mount Vernon cemetery at Abington.
Miss Ferris was the daughter of Rev. Leonard Z. and Elizabeth S. (Thompson) Ferris. Mr. Ferris was pastor of the local Congregational church at one time.
She was born in Haverhill and resided in Rockland about 10 years. She left her teaching position here for a similar position at Hampton, Va., where she remained for 35 years. Following her residence in Hampton, she made her home at Washington D. C., and at Waltham.
She is survived by a cousin, Mrs. John Crogann of Waban, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Pond of Maine. She was in her 77th year at the time of her death.
