Walter Sewell Cannon, 80, of Austin, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2018. He was born on February 1, 1938, in Houston, Texas. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in 1960 and a member of the Corps of Cadets. Walt proudly served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1963. He then enjoyed a long career in IT at IBM and in the Financial Services industry. He treasured years of community service with the Lions Club and with Mobility Worldwide.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter G. and Billye Cannon, brother, Tommy Cannon; and sisters, Gloria Milburn and Johnnie Phillips. Walt is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Kay Cannon of Austin; children, Jeff Cannon of Kansas City, Missouri; Steve Cannon and wife Donna of Leander; Julie Sharifian and husband Bahman of Round Rock; Cissy Walker of Leander; and grandchildren, Tyler Cannon and fiancé Kendall Turner, Payton Sharifian, Wyatt Sharifian, and Caden Walker. He is also survived by beloved numerous nieces and nephews plus a community of dear friends that are family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Austin, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Cannon, Steve Cannon, Bahman Sharifian, Tyler Cannon, Wyatt Sharifian, Kirk Cannon.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Caden Walker, Jim Harrison, Sonny Kane, John Rudd, Bill Schoening, Dirk Ray, Ed Turner, Jim Mitchon, Len Leslie, Wesley Gass, Tom Guyton.
