KELLY AKERS
(1892-1954)

Kelly M. Akers, 62, of 1819-K Wayne Ave., Baltimore & Ohio Railroad fireman, died at 7 a.m. today at his home. Death was caused by a heart ailment. Mr. Akers had been ill several weeks, but was not considered in serious condition.

He was born July 12, 1891, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of Wayne Akers and Ida Akers.

Surviving are the parents, who lives in Ward, W.Va.; his wife, Jennie Simmons Akers; three sons, Harry of Portsmouth Rt. 4, Roy, 1707 Charles St., and Ray, 782 Harding Ave., Sciotoville; two brothers, Roy of Ward, W.Va., and Wayne of Woodale, W.Va; a sister, Mrs. Herman Buckley of Ward, W.Va., and eight grandchildren.

A brother preceded in death.

Mr. Akers was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Firemen.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Emrick Funeral Home with Rev. G.B. Maygood officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
