Willard L. Barrett, 88, of Fredericktown, Missouri died September 8, 2007 at Fredericktown.

He was born August 29, 1919 at Bounds, Missouri, the son of John William and Emma (Lunyou) Barrett.

On October 11, 1941 he was united in marriage to Lillian Reynolds at Greenville.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Lillian Barrett of Fredericktown; three children, Mrs. Phyllis Spain of St. Ann, Missouri, Mrs. Linda Butler of Fredericktown and Dennis Barrett of Fredericktown; one brother, Carl Barrett of Piedmont; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Desha of Piedmont, Mrs. Betty Garrett of Piedmont and Mrs. Barbara Brown of Piedmont.

Mr. Barrett had four grandchildren.

He was a World War II veteran serving in 1941 and was honorably discharged in 1945 having reached the rank of Sergeant.

Mr. Barrett was a lifelong resident of Wayne County and retired in 1981 as plant manager for Duncan Ready Mix.

He was a Charter member of Harvest Baptist Church.

Services were held September 11, 2007 at the Morrison-Worley Chapel in Piedmont with the Reverend Jack Ruble officiating.

Eulogy was given by Dennis Barrett.

Pallbearers were: John “Mutt” Henson, Charles Ezell, Buddy VanNoy, Marvin Lueddecke Sr., James “Bud” Clark and Stan Wallace.

Burial was at Piedmont Masonic Cemetery.
