He graduated from Hibbing High School where he was involved in numerous fine arts activities. He worked at American Linen in Hibbing and Minneapolis. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he worked at the Employers Council in Duluth for 10 years. He then moved to Seattle where he worked at Rainer Bank. While living in Seattle, Bob was very active in 4-H, Pony Club and several civic organizations. Bob returned to Hibbing in 1989. He retired from Eveleth Mines in 1994. Bob contributed something special to each life he touched and to the world by fighting for what was right and just. He was a master woodworker who designed and built beautiful furniture, exquisite boxes and carvings. He loved camping, fishing, reading, and computers.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Nelson Klasnya; daughters: Renee (Paul) Niskanen, Dawn (Bill) Ackerman, Debbie Rathe; sons: Frank Burt, Todd Comstock; grandchildren: Tyler Niskanen, Melanie, Brianna and Britney Comstock, Alex, Alysha, Janylle and Davis Rathe; aunts: Betty Perell , Zorka (Rev. Milton) Ahrens, Carolyn (Peter) Pierson, Jim (Sue) Ahrens , Janice (Wayne) Lamminen, Evelyn Skrbich, Duane (Arlene) Nelson, Mary Kay (Rick) Bazemore and Lori Zanck; and special friends: Jan Adair, Mayme Radovich, Bob (Fran) Butchert and Rick and Brigitta Silvi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Michael; and his special friend, Nick Radovich.
