CRUSHED TO DEATH BENEATH ELEVATOR

Russell W. Ransome Is Killed Tuesday at Dold Packing Plant

Russell Wellington Ransome, 65 years old, laborer, 1409 East Morris street, was mutilated in a freight elevator accident at 9:40 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Dold Packing company's plant. His neck, both arms and right leg were broken, his chest was crushed and he received a scalp would on the back of his head. Five minutes later, after Ransome had been placed on a dock to await the arrival of Gill's ambulance, it was found the life was extinct.

From what was learned from a Mexican workman, who was the only eye witness, it was gathered that Ransome's body was caught and ground between the floor of one of the rooms and the elevator.

Ransome, who lived at Furley until four years ago, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Ransome; two daughters, Miss Minnie Ransome of Wichita and Miss Emma Ransome of Tulsa; two sons, George Ransome of Wichita and Miss Emma Ransome of ley; one brother, Joe Ransome of Oakland, Calif., and a sister Mrs. Harry Hill, Thirtieth block on Victor place.

The body was removed to the City Undertaking parlors.
