Earle C Kerr, 90 years old, was a lifelong resident of Medfield. He died peacefully Monday morning, August 10, 2009, at his home in Medfield.

Earle was born in Medfield on March 14, 1919. He was the son of the late E. Roy and Grace (Sims) Kerr. He was a 1937 graduate of Medfield High School and attended Tilton Academy in New Hampshire. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as a medical technician in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and was awarded a bronze star following the Philippine liberation.

Earle was employed throughout his career as a machinist with Bird Machine Company of Walpole. He was a member of the Bird Machine 25 Year Club and the Medfield American Legion Beckwith Post #110. He had been a Boy Scout Troop Leader and had enjoyed many years with the Medfield town baseball league.

Predeceased in April by his wife of 67 years, Virginia (Davis) Kerr, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Foscaldo and husband Paul of Medfield and Sandra Nelson and husband Alfred of Penn Valley, CA, and eight grandchildren, Karen McLean, Darrell, Darrick, and Deborah Kerr, Mark, James, and David Foscaldo, and Rebecca Leslie. He was also the father of the late Ronald E. Kerr and brother of the late George Kerr and Helen Marsh.
