Her funeral service was Saturday, March 24th at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church rural Carpenter with Rev. Matt Stacey, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Anna was born on August 13, 1917 at her parents' home in Lake Bryon Township, Beadle County, to Elias E. and Anna J. (Tschetter) Wipf. Her parents and paternal grandparents, Elias J. Wipf, moved by train, in the fall of 1918, to McCleod, Alberta, Canada. Following WWI in 1919, they returned to Milford Township, Beadle County. Following the death of her mother in 1924, she went to live with her paternal grandparents. Anna's father married Mary Tschetter on October 25, 1925, she then returned to her father's home. Anna grew up in the Carpenter/Hitchcock area and attended country schools. She graduated from the 8th grade at Union Township School, Spink County. After graduation, Anna lived with her paternal grandparents. The fall of 1936, she cared for Mrs. Wood until her death.
On December 8, 1938, she married Richard Decker at the home of Richard's parents. Following their marriage they farmed in the Carpenter area. She was a member of the Hutterthal Mennonite Church of rural Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leonard on April 22, 1954; a brother, Elmer in 1972; and her husband Richard on February 20, 1997.
Survivors include her son, Alan and his wife Patricia of Huron; her daughter, Diane Loewen of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Kevin, Kari, Darliss, Sharleen, Brent, Charles, Travis, Melissa, Jennifer and Anna; ten great-grandchildren, Owen, Alexis, Kasandra, Alycia, Chayton, Aliyah, Patrick, Orieana, Cody, Caitlin, plus one on the way; her brother, Iky (Bernice) Wipf of Bloomfield; six sisters, Mary Walters of Bridgewater, Rebecca Zerbel of Redfield, Kathryn (James) Neilsen of Tacoma, Washintgon, Martha Schmeichel of Huron, Darlene (Vincent) Gaspar of Orient, and Miriam (Marlan) Tschetter of Hitchcock.
