Owen Michael Abbott, 13, of Winamac, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Plymouth, IN as the result of a school bus accident. He was born on May 2, 2005 in Winamac to Dean Abbott Jr and Britni Weldon. Owen enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and playing sports. He was a member of the Pulaski County 4H and was active in the shooting sports club. He played baseball for Star City Little League and was on the All Star team every year. Owen was currently a student at Winamac Middle School where he was a member of the football team. Owen also enjoyed playing with his toy cars and playing Fortnite. Like so many teenage boys, Owen loved tractors, trucks and semis as well as playing backyard football with his friends and brothers, Parker and Casen.

Owen is survived by his parents; stepfather; two brothers; several grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and step family. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mandi Abbott; paternal great-grandfathers, Donald Abbott and Gene Owen; and paternal step-great-grandmother, Iva Pratt.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Winamac Church of the Heartland with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Winamac Church of the Heartland and two hours prior to services at the church Tuesday. Burial will take place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac, IN.
