She was raised in Welaka, FL. She graduated from Crescent City High School in June 1947. She moved from Palatka to Gainesville in December 1954 and moved from Gainesville to Hawthorne in August 1976 where she resided until she passed away.
She retired from the Alachua County Tax Collectors office in August 1992 with 29 years of service. She was a member of the Gainesville Moose Club for over 50 years, a member of the Hawthorne Woman's Club for over 25 years, a member of Hawthorne Life Enrichment Center, member of Ann's Angels Red Hats in Gainesville.
She was preceded by her parents Frank and Elma King, her husband, Lacy D. Taylor in 1982, her husband, C.M. Stepp in 1996; brother, Lloyd W. King; stepson, David L. Taylor; stepdaughter, Rita Bastidas; son, Lloyd W. Taylor.
She is survived by stepdaughters, Janine (Ron) Montgomery of Tallahassee, Juanita (Lalo) Hernandez of Deland; 3 grandsons; 2 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters.
She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 1:00 P. M., in the Woodlawn Baptist Church, 818 Co Road 20A, Hawthorne, with Pastor L. D. O'Steen, officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery.
