Nicholas Ross Sr. 82, of Newark, formerly of Hanover, died Monday, December 3, 2018 at Flint Ridge Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born June 28, 1936 in New Mine, PA to the late Nicholas and Carmella (Sgro) Russo.

After retiring from PCA after 45 years of service, Nicholas worked as a driver for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed showing his antique cars, especially his prized 1957 Ford Fairlane. He loved his family and he worked very hard to provide a good living.

He is survived by son, Nicholas (Jeri) Ross Jr; daughters, Tina (Joey) Spencer of Somerset, April (Amy) Talkington- Ross of Newark, and Roxane (Karl) Whitley of Newark; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Tim Davino.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jean (Ashcraft) Ross; and six sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 394 E. Main St. Newark, OH 43055.

A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, December 12, 2018 beginning at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A private inurnment will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens following the mass.
