Imogene spent her early years going to school in Oenaville and then later Troy. She was very active in school as a Troy Trojanette and was the drum major of the marching band. She was a Baptist and has been a resident of Bell County for her entire life.
She is preceded in death by her parents O.T. and Mary as well as one sister Dorothy Boutwell.
Imogene leaves behind her brother Johnnie Thornton Sr. of Westphalia as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends; grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews are also surviving.
A funeral service will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple at 10 AM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 with Deacon Charlie Wright officiating. The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home on Saturday morning starting at 9 AM before the service. A burial will follow immediately after the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
