James Thomas (aka "J.T.", aka "Doogie") Hollins of McKinney, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2018 at the age of 65. He was the eldest son of J.T. Hollins Sr. and Betty Lou (Perry) Hollins. James was born on November 29, 1953 in McKinney, Texas. He attended E.S. Doty High School in McKinney and was a 1972 graduate of McKinney High School. While attending high school, J.T. excelled in football, basketball and track. Because of his achievements, J.T. helped create an upcoming legacy for McKinney Athletics; which resulted in J.T. being inducted into the 2014 First Annual McKinney ISD Athletic Hall of Honor. Upon graduating high school, he attended The University of Colorado, Ranger Junior College and The University of North Texas. In 1974, J.T. married his high school sweetheart, Beverlyn Denise Harris. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and good friend to all who met and knew him. After several years of longevity with Honeywell, Accurate Die Cutting and Beacons, he ended his employment career from Sunbelt Plastics after over 20 years of employment.

J.T. is survived by his son, James Thomas Hollins III; daughter-in-law, Peggy Loera; daughter, Remelle Yvette Hollins; grandchildren, James Terell Hollins, Jade Yvette Hollins and Jared Thomas Hollins; beloved mother, Betty Lou Hollins; sisters, Jacqueline Hollins, Diana Hollins, Annette Hollins and Jennifer Hollins; aunt, Joyce Hollins; uncle, Roy Perry; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

J.T. was preceded in death by his wife, Beverlyn D. Hollins; father, J.T. Hollins, Sr. and sister, Judith Gail Hollins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at The McKinney First Baptist Church, 401 West Erwin Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
