Pauline Brown, the mother of Front Royal realtor Warren Brown Jr. and Elks Club secretary Jane Wine, died peacefully at the Hidden Springs rest home Saturday, Dec. 1 with her children at her side. She was 94. {Hidden Springs is actually located at Limeton, VA, but the mailing address is Bentonville,, VA.}

Mrs. Brown lived most of her life in Front Royal, also a few years in Fredericksburg. In 1941, she was a member of the first graduating class of Warren County High School. Pauline was a beloved member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church where she served many years as Deacon, Vacation Bible School Director, and taught Sunday School among other leadership positions. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren Brown Sr., a well-known building contractor, in 2000.

Pauline Tice Brown, 94, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hidden Springs Senior Living in Bentonville, VA.

She was born April 20, 1924 in Oxford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of late Linton Webster Tice Sr. and Eulalie Annie St. Clair Tice.
Pauline graduated from Warren County High School, Class of 1941.

On March 28, 1942 she married Warren H. Brown Sr. Throughout their 58 years of marriage they started a construction business, building many homes and other buildings throughout Front Royal and Fredericksburg, Virginia. They also loved to travel to places throughout the United States, especially Walt Disney World in Florida.

They were happily married until the death of Warren Sr. July 7, 2000.

Pauline was an active member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church for many years and served the church as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Choir Member to name a few.

In addition to her husband and parents, Pauline was predeceased by one son, Robert Brown; two granddaughters, Angela Marie Brown and Beth Ann Wine; two brothers, Harry E. Tice and Linton W. Tice Jr.; and two sisters, Beulah Tice Whited and Edith Tice North.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Brown Wine; her son, Warren H. Brown Jr. (Betty); three grandchildren, Christina Brown Barnes (Ryan), Melissa Ann Brown, and Robert Lee Wine; four great-grandchildren, Brady Grimm, Abbey Grimm, Christian Wine, and Reba Rhoades. She is also survived by two sisters, Frances Tice Fravel and Helen Tice Williamson; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA with the Rev. Jim Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill.

There will be a visitation starting at 1 p.m. Friday before the service at Maddox Funeral Home.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.
