Essie Ophelia Robinson, 75, Gadsden, died Sunday, March 9, 1997. Funeral service Tuesday Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel and burial Forrest Cemetery. She was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and member of South Eleventh Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her companion of 58 years, Oscar Robinson; son, Billy Robinson; and daughter, Pamela Robinson. Mrs. Robinson is survived by daughters, Nancy Robinson, Gadsden; Alice Rich, Trussville; Helen Allen, Gadsden; Kay Roberson and Judy Whitt, Attalla; sons, Jerry and Steve Robinson, Gadsden; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisteer Ruby Tucker, Gadsden. Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
