A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Rigoberto “Rigo” or El Serreno as he was also known by was born on February 3, 1942 in Mexico to Jose Victor Martinez and Maria Padilla. On April 4, 1964, Rigo was united in marriage to Maria Castellanos in Mexico. Rigo enjoyed fishing, gardening, doing lawn work and snow removal and especially enjoyed riding his bicycle all over town.
Rigo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria. Children: Jose Victor, Alejandra Vilchez, Cesar Victor, Enrique Victor, Karina Victor, Hugo Victor, Miriam Victor, Celson Victor and Maria Victor. He is also survived by 39 grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as his siblings: Santiago, Jesus, Antonio, Teresa, Rosendo, Socorro and Ana Victor.
Rigo is preceded in death by his parents and his children, Ricardo and Rigoberto Victor.
