Flossie Thomas was born on June 6, 1932 in Emerson, Arkansas, the daughter of Lannie Biddle and Bessie ( -- ) Biddle.
She began her work career as a machinist at the Benicia Arsenal in Benicia, California, and she also served as a secretary at Mark's Funeral Home in Magnolia, Arkansas.
Flossie was married about 1955 to US Army Specialist First Class Paul Thomas (1930-2014), the son of Jessie Thomas and Alto (Doss) Thomas and served faithfully in various military communities including Fort Knox and Fort Campbell in Kentucky.
Flossie never met a stranger and was always admired for her passion and dedication to helping others. Community volunteer roles included CEO and Founder of the Magnolia Arkansas Crisis Center and Special Advocate to represent Abused and Neglected Children in the Juvenile Court System. She was also a member of Moms in Prayer International, Protestant Women of the Chapel, Disabled Veteran's Association and the American Legion.
She attended Forest Grove C M E Church in Emerson AR, Faith Temple of Clarksville TN and the Community Chapel of Fort Campbell KY. She also hosted a Christian radio broadcast show in Magnolia AR for over 20 years.
Flossie was 86 years old when she passed away on November 23, 2018 at Fieldstone Place in Clarksville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Loy Biddle and Doy Biddle and by her sister Bernice (Biddle) Parham. Survivors included seven sons and three daughters-in-law, two daughters, twenty-five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law.
A Home-Going Celebration was held at Hooker Funeral Home, and burial was in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas.
