Louisville - Samuel W. Lawson, 93, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. He was born on February 10, 1925, in Hart County, Kentucky, to the late Luther and Mayme (Durham) Lawson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wanda (Hawkins) Lawson. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Pam Michael (Patrick) and Donna Kalkines (James); grandchildren, Ashley Michael, Justin Michael (Julie), Alex Kalkines (Laura), and Nicole Kalkines; great grandchildren, Josie Michael, Jackson Samuel Michael and a new one on the way, Francesca. Mr. Lawson was retired from the Veterans Administration, a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II. Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be held at noon on Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial to follow in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at noon. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
