Darrold Rebelske, 86, of Bristol and formerly of Waubay, died on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster. Robert Grebel will officiate. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Waubay. Closed casket visitation will be prior to services. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements, fiksdalfuneral.com.

Darrold Dean Rebleske was born at Doc Jenkins home in Waubay July 24, 1932, to Peter and Esther (Hoth) Rebelske. He attended school in Waubay and graduated in 1950. After graduation he spent one season traveling south to Texas back stripping June grass as a member of a crew.

On July 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to Violet Andreaon. The couple made their home in Waubay. Darrold rejoined his Dad in the family milk business. Rebelske Dairy started with milking cows, pasteurizing and bottling milk for sale house to house in Waubay. Later besides bottling milk he was also a distributer for Foremost Milk which later became Lakeside Dairy. In 1960, he also was a bus driver in the Waubay school system and served as the Waubay City Auditor in the 1960s and 70s. Throughout his years in the dairy industry, he supplied dairy products to stores in the Grenville, Roslyn and Eden area, several lake resorts, and house to house delivery. In 1973, he sold the dairy business and began a career in the Waubay Post Office as a clerk and later as the Officer in charge. He retired in 1992.

Darrold was very proud to be a member of the Waubay fire department. During his time on the department he attended a number trainings and fire school. He served as the fire chief for a number of years and in various other offices. He retired in August of 2010 after 50 years of serving the community.

He is survived by his daughter Renee (Loren) Kwasniewski, three grandsons Jamie (Nikki), Brett (Nicole), Derek (Abby) Kwasniewski all of Webster, two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his wife Violet, three infant children, his parents, two sisters and a special aunt Hattie Guderian.
