BODY OF WOMAN RECOVERED FROM LAKE MONDAY
The body of a 20-year-old Shreveport girl was recovered from Cross Lake about 2 p.m. Monday by divers from the Shreveport Fire Department.
Sandra (Corky) Coleman drowned about 6:10 p.m. Sunday near Willow Point according to authorities. She reportedly fell from the boat of Paul Ferguson who had halted to pick up a fallen water skier.
Divers from the fire department and members of Cross Lake Patrol searched until about 9:30 p.m. Sunday and renewed their search at 7 a.m. Monday. The body was recovered by diver Eddie Fouts.
Caddo Corner Dr. Stuart DeLee released the body to Rose-Neath Funeral Home
A 1970 graduate of Benton High School, she was a member of Central Assembly of God Church. She attended Northeast Louisiana University.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery at El Dorado, Ark.
Officiating will be Rev. C. W Holeyfield pastor of the Central Assembly of God Church and Rev. Bob Hill of the Athens Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state in Rose Neath Bossier Chapel from noon today until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include the parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Coleman of Benton, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Chandler of Athens a sister. Carolyn Coleman of Benton and a brother Charles B. Coleman also of Benton.
Pallbearers will be Audie Jones, Paul Oliver, Larry McCormick, Ronnie Clark, Ernest Holeyfield and Jim Jones.
