James K. Grove, 88, of Winter Garden, FL, died at 12:12 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018, at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL.

Jim was born on June 28, 1930, in Springfield, the son of James C. and Mildred E. O’Keefe Grove. He married Betty J. Bomke on June 2, 1951, in Springfield. Three days after his passing, Betty followed her loving husband of 67 years in death.

Jim graduated from Ball Township High School and attended the University of Illinois. He proudly served his country in The United States Navy from 1950 – 1954 during the Korean War. He was employed throughout his life with several companies, including Hershey’s Chocolate, American Greetings, and P.A. Bergner. Jim attended Cherry Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Sue Ann Grove.

Jim is survived by his children, James S. (wife, Teresa) Grove of Flint, MI, Cynthia J. (husband, Rodger) Wunderlich of Ocoee, FL, and Donna S. (husband, George) Koe of Chatham; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia A. Weaver; niece, Barb Nixon and nephew, David Weaver, all of Columbia, MO; and his cheerio buddy, Bandit.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Chatham Baptist Church, 1500 E. Walnut St., Chatham. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Weber officiating.

Private Family burial will be held at Farmington Cemetery near Farmingdale, IL.
