Geneva Garrett Keenum, age 76, of Stockbridge, GA died Wednesday, May 16, 2012. She was born in Unaka, NC to the late Roosevelt and Josie Graham Garrett. Geneva was a member of Brushy Knob Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Womens Ministry. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she loved to bake cakes for other people. In the Summer, she enjoyed canning vegetables. Geneva always loved returning to her family roots in North Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Keenum; a daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Mark Spence of Stockbridge, GA; two sisters, Inez Dockery of Unaka, NC and Hazel Parker of McEwen, TN; sister-in-law, Doris Garrett; two grandchildren, Kristina Spence and Adam (Elizabeth) Spence; four great-grandchildren, Buster Spence, James Spence, Melissa Spence, Kaylen Spence, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 4 " 6 PM with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM in the Chapel. The body will be taken to Friendship Baptist Church in Murphy, NC on Friday, May 18th, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 " 2:30 PM with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM in the church. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
