Mrs. Tanner was a native and resident of Hancock County. She worked with Sparta Health Care and the Variety Shop. She was preceded in death buy her parents Dawsie Bassett Lovejoy and Mamie Lanier Lovejoy.; her husband William Douglas Tanne; a son Rene Tanner, two brothers, Brudge Lovejoy and Rene Lovejoy; and a sister Bessie Johnson. She was a msmber of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include grandson, Holland Tanner of Milledgeville; two nieces, Sylvia Puckett and husband Billy of Milledgeville and Iris Stanley of Augusta; a nephew, Randy Tolbert of Greenville, S.C.; and sister-in-law Iness Tolbert of Edgewood, S.C.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday.
