He was born on August 4, 1944 in Lafayette to the late Elmer R. Howard and Marmel R. (Geier) Howard.
Bruce had lived in the Reynolds area most of his life and was a 1962 graduate of Reynolds High School and played baseball for Coach Woody Woodruff while in school. He went on to graduate from Parks College in St. Louis, MO. Bruce had worked at Boeing Corporation in the Seattle, WA area, where he worked on some of the first 747 airplanes. He returned to Indiana to work as a draftsman for most of his career, working on projects ranging from livestock feeders to Delco Automobile Electronics. Bruce was a volunteer fireman for the Honey Creek Fire Department for over twenty years. He was very active in Boy Scouts, Honey Creek 4-H Club of Reynolds, Indiana, taking such projects as Electric (Fred Hintzman being the leader) and numerous other projects. Bruce loved and enjoyed working on projects around his yard and listening to the birds. He loved his avionics, airplanes, and attending airshows. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was baptized and confirmed at the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, IN.
He is survived by one son; three grandchildren; two siblings; former wife, Kathleen A. (Wiltse) Howard; two nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Martin R. Howard; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
